HK-Software was founded by Holger Klemt in 1991. Since then the company has been operating in Development, Support, Training/Coaching and Programming. One of the products from HK-Software is the IBExpert, which is a professional Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for the development and administration of InterBase and Firebird databases. Holger Klemt is known to many Firebird, InterBase and Delphi developers as the author of a book about the SQL database InterBase, published by bhv, and also from the lectures he has held at the American and German Borland/Inprise Developer Conferences. As part of the long standing cooperation with Borland, he has carried out various roadshows and events for Firebird, InterBase, Delphi and Delphi/400 throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Also HK-Software is organizer of the First European Firebird-Conference in Fulda, Germany since 2003.
Karl Heinz Marbaise is working with PHP/Java for about 6 years in different areas (High performance applications, CMS, eCommerce, eGovernment), furthermore in the area of Software configuration management with open source tools (RCS, CVS, Subversion, SVK) and as author of articles.
Emma is responsible for the development and integration of the Ingres database and associated products and technologies. A leading authority in DBMS technologies, Emma has been instrumental in the ongoing success of the Ingres product line. Emma joined Ingres as senior vice president of Engineering from CA where she held a similar position responsible for the Ingres family of relational database management products. Emma started her career with Ingres in 1992, and has held a variety of senior development and management positions. Born in Ireland, Emma earned a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering from Dublin City University.
Systems analyst and database designer with almost 20 years of IT experience, developer in several languages (among them, C, C++, Delphi, Perl), has published technical articles in different well known sites and magazines, among which SysAdmin, www.mysql.com, and OnLamp.com. Experienced in data analysis, migration between database systems, and performance optimization, has worked with national and international organizations. He is founding partner and CTO of Stardata, and member of MySQL Guilds. Recently joined MySQL AB as QA developer.
Dag H. Wanvik is a staff engineer with Sun Microsystems in the area of database technology. He holds a M.Sc. in computer science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Prior to focusing on Apache Derby (Java DB), he worked 5 years on a high availability data base engine (Clustra/HADB), holding both development and management positions. Earlier experience includes 17+ years of compiler and debugger R&D. He last led development of Derby's support for JDBC scrollable, updatable result sets.
